More Than Four Decades of Auto Body Experience

J.J.S. Auto Body Clinic was established in 1980, which means we have spent more than four decades working with damaged vehicles, changing repair technology, evolving materials, and increasingly complex safety systems. During that time, the auto body industry has changed dramatically, but one thing has remained constant for us: the repair still has to be done right.

Over the years, we have grown into a full-service auto body and collision repair shop capable of handling much more than basic cosmetic work. Today, customers come to us for collision repairs, dents, refinishing, glass replacement, rust protection, truck work, and other services that help restore both the appearance and function of their vehicles. That broader range of capabilities allows us to address more of the repair process in one place while keeping communication clear from beginning to end. Our long history in Cumberland also means we understand the importance of reputation. In a community where people know one another, you cannot build trust by rushing work or giving customers vague answers. You build it by being consistent, explaining what you are doing, and standing behind the quality of the repair.

Call About Your Repair

Serving Cumberland Since 1980

Our shop at 511 22nd Avenue has been part of the Cumberland community for more than four decades. During that time, we have repaired vehicles for local families, commuters, truck owners, and drivers who simply needed a trustworthy place to turn after something went wrong. Longevity does not happen by accident. It comes from consistently earning the confidence of the people you serve, one estimate and one repair at a time. We believe local customers continue to choose J.J.S. because they know what they can expect from us: clear explanations, trained technicians, fair rates, careful repairs, and a commitment to returning vehicles to their pre-accident condition whenever possible.

We Believe Customers Should Know What Their Vehicle Needs

One of the biggest frustrations people can face after an accident is not knowing what happens next. There may be visible damage, hidden damage, insurance questions, repair estimates, replacement parts, paint work, and safety concerns all happening at once, and that can make the process feel overwhelming very quickly.

Our Approach…

Our approach is to slow that confusion down and explain things in straightforward language. Before we begin repairs, we walk customers through what the vehicle needs, why the work is necessary, and what the repair process will involve. We do not believe people should have to decode technical jargon just to understand what is happening to their own vehicle. That same transparency carries through to pricing. We emphasize fair regional labor rates and clear communication so customers are not left wondering where unexpected charges came from. Our goal is to make the repair process easier to understand and easier to trust.

What to Expect When You
Bring Us Your Vehicle

The first step is simple. Bring your vehicle in or contact us for a free estimate, and we will take a look at the damage and explain what we see. From there, we can discuss the repair needs, the process, and any relevant next steps. If the vehicle was involved in an accident, we can help customers better understand the repair side of the process so they know what needs to happen before work begins. We want that first conversation to feel helpful rather than intimidating. After all, you don’t need to know the technical terms or diagnose the issue yourself. That is our job, and we will walk you through it in plain language.

Meet the People Behind J.J.S.

J.J.S. Auto Body Clinic is a close-knit operation, and that gives our customers direct access to the people responsible for the work. Greg is the owner and often serves as the primary point of contact when customers need estimates, answers, or guidance about a repair.

John splits his time between the office and the shop, which gives him a practical understanding of both customer communication and the work happening behind the scenes. We also have two additional full-time employees working in the business, along with Greg’s son, who works part time in the shop.

That team structure keeps things personal. Customers are not being handed off through multiple departments, and the people answering questions are connected to what is actually happening with the vehicle.

Training, Education, and Doing the Repair Correctly

Vehicle technology does not stand still, and neither can a good repair shop. New materials, new repair procedures, advanced driver-assistance systems, structural changes, and evolving paint systems all require technicians to keep learning.

We place a strong emphasis on continued education because experience is most valuable when it evolves with the vehicles coming through the door. Our technicians bring hands-on knowledge to the job, but they also continue building their understanding of current repair methods and manufacturer procedures.

That combination of experience and ongoing education helps us stay focused on the standard that has guided us for decades: do the repair correctly, explain it clearly, and never treat “good enough” as the goal.

Fair Rates and No Mystery Invoices

We know cost matters, especially when a repair is unexpected. Our approach is to use fair regional labor rates and explain the work before we begin so customers have a clearer idea of what they are paying for.

That transparency helps reduce one of the biggest frustrations people have with auto repair: surprises at the end. While unforeseen damage can sometimes change the scope of a collision repair once disassembly begins, we believe those changes should be communicated rather than quietly added to the bill.

Straightforward pricing is part of our broader philosophy. We want customers to feel like they were treated fairly, not only when they pick up the vehicle, but throughout the entire repair process.
